The latest polls by Scott Rasmussen show a precipitous drop in approval and rise in disapproval for President Obama. He is now below 50% approval in two key swing states, Ohio and Virginia. More and more independents and moderates who were duped by his moderate election rhetoric into voting for him are regretting it. I believe that many of those voters were either unaware of his radically liberal voting record or believed that he would not have the audacity to push that leftist agenda while governing. They were wrong. The argument that I heard from the left was not to worry because even though he said he was going to do these radically leftist things, he didn't really mean it. He really was a nice guy and you like him don't you? He was just saying those thing to pander to his liberal base and that he would have to govern from the middle. I think that was part of the strategy to freeze legitimate concerns from the right about this man's murky past and radical associations and agenda.
I now believe this man is a self serving socialist president. Rahm Emanuel, his leftist thug chief of staff, put it succinctly, "A crisis is a terrible thing to waste". Never mind that it's a crisis, let's just not waste it for our political power gain. We can buy votes, influence, and contributions with the taxpayer's dollars. That's the important thing. I see a blatant contempt for the working taxpayer in this administration's agenda. Joe the Plumber was told he must share the wealth. He was told that "trickle up" economics would help him. Let me ask you, when was the last time somebody with less money than you gave you money or a job?
Here is a nice listing of additional reasons for the big drop in his popularity from Instapundit:

THE OBAMA PRESIDENCY: "We’ve seen him in action for a bit more than six months. What we can say with confidence, now that we have the evidence of his actions, is that had he run on (a) transforming the U.S. economy by massive federal government intervention, (b) taking an owner’s stake in the automobile industry, (c) transforming the rules of America’s energy economy, (d) instituting a national health-care system - all of these simultaneously and in the center of a financial meltdown - Barack Obama wouldn't merely have lost the election, he wouldn’t have got as many votes as gnarly old Ross Perot did in an election long past. . . . Mr. Obama has taken the real crisis of the U.S. (and world) economy and used it as the screen and lever for a massive agenda of transformation, a transformation that calls for expenditures on a scale never before seen in the history of government on this planet.” Posted by Glenn Reynolds
Not to mention his 2009 Blame America First World President & Apology Tour, complete with bowing to Saudi Kings, and rewrites of history such as The United States did not win the Cold War. Yesterday's meeting with the Pope and gift by him of a book on bioethics points out the immorality of this secular president's very pro-abortion beliefs. He takes the book but plows ahead in the United Nations for worldwide rights to abortion. So he is a nice guy, with a nice smile and charm, who is doing everything in his power to see that as many unborn babies as possible will continue to die all over the world.
It is outrageous that ACORN continues to receive taxpayer dollars to recruit more voters for this administration. It is outrageous that a blanket amnesty bill will recruit 30 more million voters for Obama and take jobs away from American's in the middle of a bad recession with 9.5% unemployment. It is outrageous that Obama sides with communist dictators like Argentina' s Chavez , Nicaragua's Ortega and Cuba's Castro over a constitutionally elected democracy in Honduras. It is outrageous to push a huge, regressive energy tax, duplicitously called "Cap & Trade" to fill his political supporters pockets. Even if you believe in Global Warming, which I don't, the fact that China, India and Mexco refuse to participate makes it totally futile, anyway. The lower energy costs that they will enjoy will give them a competitive advantage and will merely result in 2.5 million more jobs being lost in the name of a phony "Green Economy". Spain's economy went green and now has 18% unemployment. Is that the goal, to double our unemployment rate? Is 9.5% nationally, and 10.8% here in Ohio not enough?
Why are we even considering another stimulus? Estimates are that only 6-10% of the initial stimulus has been spent now. We were told it would have an immediate effect by Turbo Tax Cheat Tim Geithner. We were told it would immediately go to "shovel ready" projects to improve our infrastructure. Imagine that, actually work to repair bridges and highways and not tattoo removal in San Francisco. Excuse me, but I don't believe one truck of cement has been poured anywhere in the United States. We were told unemployment would not go above 8%. Vice President Joe Biden has admitted that the administration "misread" the economy. That was in stark contrast to the arrogant and disturbing counter by Obama who said "there's nothing we would have done differently".
I am not sure that Obama won the election in November legitimately with the multiple state fraud convictions of ACORN contributing. I am not 100% sure he was constitutionally eligible as "native born" either. I don't like his Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers (who probably helped ghost write " Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance") connections. The source of his Harvard Law School funding has not been revealed, either.
I believe that he would not win the election today because the American people, as polled by Gallup, consider themselves 40% conservative, 30% moderate and 21% liberal. Many of those moderates that swung over to Obama in November to help get him elected would probably like to take that vote back. The problem is that they can't. But they will be able to vote against democrats in the mid-term congressional elections in 2010 and against him in the presidential elections of 2012.
